Brackett (John Quincy Adams) is born in Boston.

John Quincy Adams Bracket subsequently moves to 312 Shawmut Avenue. Brackett serves on Boston Common Council (1873-77). He moves to 4 Union Park Street in the late 1870s, and serves in the Massachusetts House of Representatives (1876-81 and 1884-86). Brackett moves to Arlington in 1887, serves as lieutenant governor of Massachusetts (1887-89), and as governor (1890-91). Bracket dies in Arlington on April 6, 1918.
